About the Event
In this exclusive tour bus experience, children and their grown ups will board the MCC Tour Bus at Woodlands Youth Centre, before visiting Medway’s magnificent landmarks which pay tribute to some of the diverse history within the Medway Towns. There will be fun activities along the way and the chance to win prizes!
We request at least one parent / carer to accompany up to 3 children booked on to the tour, they will need to book a ticket too but adults will not be charged - it’s our treat! Please feel free to bring your own snacks and refreshments.
Tour Schedule
10:30am All aboard the MCC Tour Bus at Woodlands Youth Centre
1st Stop - Palm Cottage, Gillingham with a plaque commemorating Sara Forbes Bonetta
2nd Stop - Chatham Historic Dockyard with a focus on William Cuffay & Olaudah Equiano
3rd Stop - Ordnance Terrace: Plaque marking Charles Dickens childhood home
4th Stop - Chatham Railway Station: Plaque in honour of Asquith Xavier
5th Stop - Nasir Mosque, Gillingham: a guided tour of the beautifully ornate Islamic place of worship
1pm Tour ends at Woodlands Youth Centre.
