Diversity: Inspiring Creativity & Literacy!

In next months interactive session, Medway Culture Club will welcome accomplished children's Author Tọlá Okogwu.

Tọlá is a British-Nigerian Author, Journalist and Hair Care Educator. Born in Nigeria but raised in London, she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. Having spent several years exploring the world of blogging, haircare and freelance writing, she finally returned to her first love...fiction. Now residing in Kent with her family, in 2016 Tọlá published her picture book trilogy, "Daddy Do My Hair", which is a firm family favourite. Tọlá also writes as Lola Morayo and the first book under this name, "Aziza's Secret Fairy Door" was published by Pan Macmillan earlier this Summer. The first book in her new middle grade duology, "Onyeka and the Academy of the Sun" will be published by Simon & Schuster in June 2022.

Tọlá will work with the Medway Culture Club teachers to deliver a fun and fictitious session which includes storytelling, expressive arts, creative thinking and writing and also touches on the journey from student, to blogger, to author.
