On 7th October, Medway Culture Club will be marking BHM 2023 with our 2nd bus tour of Medway, with a new stop added!
"Medway's Got Culture" is a bespoke bus tour of the Medway Towns designed and delivered by a local historian and tour guide.
The MCC tour bus will depart from Woodlands Youth Centre in Gillingham at 10:30 am, bound for some of Medway’s magnificent landmarks which pay tribute to the diverse history within the area. 5 legends, 4 stops, 3 hours of untold histories! There will be fun activities along the way and the chance to win prizes!

Tour Schedule:
10:20 am - Arrive & board the MCC Tour Bus at Woodlands Youth Centre, Woodlands Road, Gillingham ME7 2BX, the MCC tour bus will set off at 10:30 am for the following stops:
1. Palm Cottage, Gillingham to view a plaque commemorating Sara Forbes-Bonnetta and hear more about the significance of Palm Cottage in Medway's history.
2. Chatham Historic Dockyard to hear about significant historical figures William Cuffay & Olaudah Equiano.
3. Chatham Railway Station to see the plaque that pays tribute to the legacy of Asquith Xavier.
4. The Vines Church, Rochester. Joined by Rochester Choral Society with a focus on the work of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
1:30 pm Tour returns to Woodlands Youth Centre.
